How To get the most from One Sheet of DSP

Annual15_p029_bToday I’m playing with The Timeless Elegance DSP (Designer Series paper). Which I’ve teamed with Stampin’ UP! notecards.   This is a very economical combination. When I have gorgeous patterned paper I want to get the most from it.  You can cut 10 pieces of dsp from just one sheet of 12″ x 12″, perfect for the Notecards which are 5″ x 3½” perfect for congratulations, thank you’s, and many other greetings.

With these simple dimensions and just half a pack of Stampin’ UP! Notecards you can make 10 gorgeous cards in a very short time.  Notecards come in packs of 20 cards and 20 envelopes, you will find them on page 149 of the annual Stampin’ UP! catalogue.  They can be purchased in Whisper White and Crumb Cake and at just A$10.50, they are an excellent buy.  The Quality thick cardstock has made them a class favourite.

  • Notecards finished size is 5” x 3½”
  • Cut your mats to 4¾” x 3¼” for Timeless Elegance cardstock colours are Sahara Sand, Black or Whisper White
  • DSP 4½” x 3” (instructions to cut 10 pieces follow).
  • Cut a 3″ strip along one side of the dsp, then turn your cardstock 90º and cut two more strips at 3″. This gives you 5, 3″ strips.
  • Turn all the strips to the long side and cut them to 4½”.  This will give you 10 pieces of dsp at 3″ x 4½” You will be left with one small square of dsp to use on another project.

Timeless Elegance dsp also lends itself beautifully to watercolouring, markers, coloured pencils etc.  A light touch is required for watercolour, but the soft affect you can achieve makes it worth spending the time.  I made the following three cards in less than an hour.  I coloured mine individually, but there is no reason why you couldn’t colour the whole sheet and cut it out as desired afterwards.
