I originally made this card in a size to fit into a small 3″ x 4″ box, here it is as part of a small box card set. I was so taken with the card I decided to remake it in a larger size. This card is standard sized at 51/2″ x 41/8″.
The small deer were fussy cut from the Home For Christmas designer paper currently available from Stampin’ UP! Occasions Catalogue. I think you will agree those little deer are much too cute not to be cut from the 12″ x 12″ sheet of paper and used individually. The paper is covered in images of these sweet little deer, and if you look closely you will see that each deer has a mirror image somewhere on the page.
I first added a background paper to my card. I chose the mistletoe paper for this, and prepped a piece of Chocolate chip Core-dinations (retired) which I ran through my BigShot with the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, I then rubbed the core-dinations lightly with a sanding block to get the tree images to stand out more. I cut a small piece from one side then tore all edges. I spritzed the edges lightly with water and curled some pieces around a skewer for a distressed look.
After fussy cutting my deer I added them to my card with dimensionals. The little deer at the back is simply glued straight onto the bottom core-dinations piece. I then adhered the other half of him to the front piece so that he appears to be behind the tree
