An Album for Janet

I have the best sister in law.  While my dad has been ill in England so far away from me, it has been my sister in law who has kept me up to date with progress on a daily basis.  I’m glad to say that my dad is now well and back home.

I wanted to do something nice for my sister in law so this past weekend I made her this little mini album.  She and my brother are moving soon after living in the same house for over 35 years, so a pretty big deal for them.  This is just a little more than a card to wish them well with the move.

Australiana Album for Janet (1)

The front cover has been made using an Australiana Designer paper, the beautiful Stampin UP! Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Die and flowers, and some filigree corners from my stash.  I also bent one of the longer filigree pieces to create the closure.  The finished album is just 41/2″ x 31/2″ and it contains 5 pages.  I used Kathy Orta’s Hidden Hinge binding system to create the album.

The Australiana paper was so pretty I really didn’t have to do much more than cut out the pieces I liked and adhere them to my pages.  The edges were sponged with Stampin’ UP! Soft suede ink.  I did lots of fussy cutting and punched some flowers.

I suspect I may be making more of these cute little albums.

  1. Thank you. I had an email from Janet the other day, she loved her little book and I think was a little overwhelmed to receive it. I’m so pleased she enjoyed it.

      1. Oh your so sweet. If you look at my projects…most of them are ‘taken’ by my friends…I don’t mind…it’s a compliment. I too love to craft. It will be wonderful watching another crafters site. I always look forward to learning something new!!!
